Cut-out explainer
Cutout
A free Claude skill for calm graph-paper explainers
It opens on a question: what if the biggest problem with X isn't A, but B? Then one fact, a sting, "are we A, or just B?", your answer and the free thing at the end. It all happens on grey graph paper that pans and pushes with the story, and every prop is a black-and-white printed cut-out with a white rim and a thick edge: a file that gets a red FREE stamp, a light beam, app tiles wired to the file, a meter that fills and drops, a light bulb you can dim, a bag with one sheet of paper in it. One caption at the top types itself on the voice, and the ending goes white with your keyword on a highlighter pill.

What it makes
- Halftone cut-out stickers with a white die-cut rim and a thick grey edge, their words printed crisp on top
- Grey graph paper, light and charcoal, on a camera that pans, pushes and whips
- A chat that zooms out into a phone, a red stamp, a light beam, app tiles wired together and a price card that counts up
- A wireframe file and a yellow meter, a light bulb with a dimmer dial, a laptop, bracket boxes that type and a line-art lock
- One centred caption typed word by word, and a white ending with highlighter pills
Best for: Calm opinion and product explainers: a question, a fact, a turn, your answer and a clear ask.

What you need
- Node 22 or newer
- Chrome or Edge
- ffmpeg
- An ElevenLabs API key (the free plan works to try it)
40 to 55 seconds · One voice, with free estimated timings before you spend any credits · Its own synthesized sounds and groove, about 4 minutes to draw a 52-second reel
How to use it
- Morphy: it's built in. Open Settings → Community → Playground → Content skills and add Cutout to a chat in one click.
- Claude Code: save the file as
~/.claude/skills/cutout/SKILL.md, with the reference frames beside it asreference.jpg, then ask for a video or run/cutout. - Codex or any other agent: add it as a skill, or attach the file to your first message.
Your first video
Make a 50-second Cutout reel: what if the biggest problem with AI tools isn't the price, but how many of them you pay for?
The agent checks your setup, writes the script, makes the voice, renders a few stills to check and then every frame, and hands you the MP4. Posting it is up to you.
Questions
- Is the Cutout format really free?
- Yes. Download the .md file: no account, no email, no paywall. Use it for as many videos as you like.
- What do the voices cost?
- The voice comes from ElevenLabs. Its free plan is enough to try the format (about 10,000 credits a month, roughly one per character of script). Posting videos that promote anything needs a paid plan for the commercial licence, from $6 a month.
- Does it work with Codex too?
- Yes. It's a standard SKILL.md, the skill format Claude Code and Codex both read, and Morphy has it built in. Any other agent that can run code can follow it if you attach the file.
- Do I have to label the video as AI?
- On Instagram, a reel narrated by a realistic AI voice needs Meta's AI info label; switch it on when you post. On YouTube and TikTok, check the AI disclosure setting when the content looks realistic.
