Move to another computer
Export your projects, tabs, chats and cards as a zip and import them in Morphy on another computer, with each chat's latest messages if you like.
Take your workspace to another computer: Export saves it as a zip, and Import adds it to Morphy there. Both are in Settings → General → Workspace.
Export
Click Export…. Morphy says what goes in and asks whether to Bring each chat's conversation along (ticked to start with). Then pick where to save the zip; Morphy suggests your Documents folder.
What the zip holds:
- Your projects, with their canvases and saved focuses, and Home's own canvases and focuses.
- Your tabs for named canvases and saved focuses.
- The chats and cards on your canvases, where they sit: a chat's AI, model, effort, name, colour and folder; a card's file and what it saved.
- Each chat's latest messages, with the box ticked (see Bring a conversation along).
What stays: Morphy's own chat, flows, your settings, your keys and AI sign-ins, and the files in your projects' folders. Copy those folders over yourself, for example with Git.
Import
Click Import…, pick the zip and confirm. Nothing on this computer is replaced: everything comes in beside what you have.
- A project whose name you already use gets a number, like Site 2. So does a canvas in Home.
- A card whose file name is taken gets a number too, like plan-2.html.
- What sat on the main canvas lands to the right of what's on yours.
- Your tabs come back for the canvases and focuses that had one.
- A chat keeps its folder only if that folder exists on this computer. Otherwise it works in Morphy's folder until you pick one in its folder menu: point it at your copy of the project.
- Imported chats start in this computer's permission mode (Settings → General → New chats → Permissions), not the one they had.
On Freemium, projects past its limit wait for Pro, like any others.
Bring a conversation along
A chat's conversation stays with its AI on the computer where it happened. With Bring each chat's conversation along, the zip takes that conversation's latest messages: up to the last 24, with long ones cut short, the same as when you switch a chat to another AI. It's the conversation's own messages, not a summary an AI writes, so a long conversation brings its end.
After the import, the chat shows those messages with a line under them: Brought over from another computer · your next message brings this conversation along. Your next message in that chat hands them to its AI first, so it can pick up where you left off, and the line then says it got them. Start fresh instead starts a new conversation without them. If you change the chat's folder before or after, the new conversation there gets them again with your next message.
The AI gets what was said, not your files as they were then: it looks at the files on this computer.
Only import workspaces you trust
Morphy doesn't upload the zip anywhere: it stays where you save it. Treat it like any file with your work in it, since with the box ticked it holds your chats' latest messages.
A workspace from someone else brings their cards, and their cards run like your own (in the same sandbox). A conversation that comes along goes to your AI with your first message in that chat, so only import a workspace from someone you trust.
