Your files and privacy

What Morphy stores on your computer, what it sends where, and how to back up or remove it.

Morphy keeps your work on your own computer. Your canvases, cards, chats, notes and keys live in one folder, and your messages go straight from your computer to the AI you picked.

The data folder

Everything is in %APPDATA%\Morphy. Paste that into the Explorer address bar to open it. Settings → General shows it as Data folder.

FolderWhat's in it
assistantMorphy's folder: your instruction files (CLAUDE.md, CANVAS-USER.md), your skills, your keys (.env) and anything Morphy creates for you
cardsYour cards, one HTML file each, and canvas.json: the layout of every canvas, project and focus view
card-dataWhat you entered in your cards
backgroundsWallpapers you added
logsMorphy's log file, morphy.log, handy when something goes wrong
.morphMorphy's own state: which conversation each chat continues, your settings, your sign-in, deleted items kept for 3 days

The conversations themselves are mostly kept by each AI's own tool, in your user folder (Claude's in .claude, Codex's in .codex). OpenRouter and Ollama conversations are kept inside .morph.

Back up or move to a new computer

Copy the whole %APPDATA%\Morphy folder. To restore, install Morphy, quit it, and put the folder back in the same place. That brings your canvases, cards, skills, notes and settings. Chat conversations are kept by each AI's own tool (like .claude in your user folder), so copy those folders too if you want to continue old conversations.

Your instruction files

Morphy works from CLAUDE.md (about you) and CANVAS-USER.md (how you like your canvas and cards). They're yours to edit: open them from Settings → Morphy Agent, or just tell Morphy what you like. CANVAS-APP.md, Morphy's built-in manual, is rewritten every time Morphy starts, so edits there don't stick. See Teach it how you work.

Your keys

API keys you add in Settings → Account → Workspace keys are stored in assistant\.env on your computer. Sign-ins to Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Grok and Antigravity are kept by those tools themselves (in your user folder, or for Copilot in Windows' Credential Manager), and shared with them when you use them outside Morphy.

The work log

When an agent finishes a real piece of work (a feature, a fix, a new page), Morphy notes it in a local log. That's what Shipped shows on project cards, in Settings → Activity and on the Dashboard. Questions, research and unfinished work aren't logged. The log stays on your computer.

What leaves your computer

  • Your messages (and the files an agent reads to do its work) go straight to the AI you chose, with your own account. That AI's privacy policy applies to them. They never pass through Morphy.
  • Signing in: when you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture.
  • Once a day, Morphy tells our server it was opened: your account ID, its version and your operating system. Nothing about what you do in Morphy.
  • Updates download from GitHub.
  • The welcome card's tour video loads from Morphy's server while that card is on your canvas.
  • Morphy Remote connects your phone to your computer directly over your own network.

No ads, and no third-party tracking or analytics. The full policy is on the privacy page.

Remove everything

  1. Uninstall Morphy.
  2. Delete the %APPDATA%\Morphy folder.
  3. To delete your account record on our side, email casper.apers@gmail.com from the address you signed in with.

The AI tools' own sign-ins (like .claude or .codex in your user folder) belong to those tools. Sign out of them, or remove them, separately.
