Cards
Ask for a dashboard, a tracker or a tool, and it appears on your canvas as a live card that stays.
A card is a small app on your canvas: a dashboard, a habit tracker, a price calculator, a reading list, a project overview. You don't build it yourself. You ask for it, and the agent writes it and puts it on your canvas, in a free spot.
Get a card
Ask Morphy for something you want to keep looking at:
Make me a tracker for this month's invoices.
Build a dashboard with the open issues in this repo.
I want a card that counts down to the launch on Friday.
Morphy knows the difference: ask for a dashboard, tracker, overview or widget and it builds a card; ask a question or give it a task and it just does it.
Cards stay and update
- They stay. Cards are saved on your computer and are still there after a restart, in the same place.
- They update live. When an agent changes a card, the canvas shows the new version right away. Ask Morphy to change a card the same way you asked for it: "add a total at the bottom", "make it compact".
- They can keep their own data. A card can save what you enter in it, like ticked-off habits or notes, and it's still there next time.
- They can fetch fresh numbers. For cards that show live data, Morphy can write a small script that refreshes the card. If a card has one, its ⟳ button runs it again.
- They can make PDFs. A card can turn what it shows into an A4 PDF and ask you where to save it.
The card's title bar shows its name. Like any item on the canvas you can move, resize, colour, tag, copy and delete it: see The canvas.
Cards are kept apart from everything else
Every card runs on its own, walled off from Morphy, from your keys and from your files. A card can't read your projects or your chats.
A card can ask an agent to do something for it, for example a "summarise this" button. When it does, Morphy stops and asks you first:
Card request tracker.html wants to ask an agent to work. This uses the agent's current permissions and may read or change files. Only continue if you trust this card.
It names the card by its file (here tracker.html). Cancel is the default. Choose Run this request only if you trust the card. A card can also pre-fill Morphy's text box for you to read and send yourself.
Links in a card open in your normal browser, and only web and email links work.
Remove and restore a card
Click the card's ✕ (Delete this card), or select it and press Delete. Ctrl + Z brings it back. For 3 days after, you can still restore it from Ctrl + K: type its name and pick Restore "…".
If an agent hid a card, find it with Ctrl + K too: the palette lists every card, hidden ones included.
Where cards live
Each card is one HTML file in the cards folder of Morphy's data folder (%APPDATA%\Morphy\cards). Their places on the canvas are stored next to them. See Your files.
The welcome card
On a fresh install, Morphy starts with a Welcome to Morphy card next to its chat. Press play for the 2-minute tour (it streams, so you need to be online). Delete it whenever you like.
